A sea of purple shirts and dogs began to run.Canines and their humans laced up their running shoes toparticipate in the 2nd annual Paws for a Cause 5k run/walk tobenefit Serene Harbor Domestic Violence Center. People and dogsof all ages attended and all were given a participation medal,which was worn proudly by both people and dogs.The eventwas officially timed by Southern Timing & Race Managementand awards were given for fastest times in the people and dogcategories. The event, which was held April 10th at Fred PoppeRegional Park in Palm Bay, Florida and also virtually, had 147participants and raised over $3500.00. There was an over-whelming feeling of community and coming together as peoplecheered each other on. Many were greeted by more cheers andhugs at the finish line.
