I close my eyes, praying he is happy running and playing, waiting for me. Rusty passed in March 2018.” –Richard Gonzmart “Sonny showed other dogs how to sit, come and generally how to behave. It all seemed to come naturally for him. Sonny had been a great addition to our family and a super asset to rescue work. With his assistance, fostering was more rewarding and easier. He had a job to do. He trained, exercised and offered friendship. My little Sonny-boy is gone, and I miss him more than any words can describe. His picture hangs by my bed with his bright shining eyes, now watching over me. I say goodnight to him each and every night.” –GloriaYarina “Marcella was very small but mighty and loyal to the very end. She lost her three year battle with cancer February 19th. 2016. He’s not waiting at The Bridge for me, I can assure you. He went ahead on in, because there are going to be people in that place who need him.” – Coleen Ellis, Pet Loss Pioneer, The Pet Loss Center. For two years, Sherry-Lee Cook carried a photograph she had cut out of a magazine. It was a picture of a black and white French Bulldog.Wherever she was, when the con- versation turned to dogs, Sherry-Lee would pull the piece of paper from her wallet, unfold it and pass it around. “That’s my dog, Mr.Winston,” she would announce.” Friends would ask,“When did you get Mr.Winston?” Sherry-Lee would reply,“I haven’t yet. But, this is what he looks like, and he’s trying to find his way to me.” She filled out a dozen adoption applications to different Frenchie rescue groups in Florida and across the country. Then, she waited. Mr.Winston finally made his way home and into Sherry-Lee’s heart in 2007 from Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. He had been found abandoned, locked in the bathroom of an apartment, apparently for quite some time. He was about two years-old and weighed only eight pounds. His normal weight should have been around 30 pounds. Sherry-Lee nursed him back to health with lots of med- ical attention, patience and love. He passed in August 2018 after having lived a colorful life with Sherry-Lee. Remembering Sponsored by ThePetLossCenter.com and Curlew Hills Pet Cemetary - 727.789.2000 U
